PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The proposed project would include construction of a museum and cultural center celebrating the 1960 Winter Olympics and history of winter sports in the Sierra Nevada. The building would include, but not be limited to, the following components: museum of Olympic and Sierra Nevada ski history, cultural community center, event space, visitor center, afe’, and museum shop.
SIGNIFICANT ENVIRONMENTAL EFFECTS: The initial study checklist identified potentially significant impacts with respect to Biological Resources, Cultural Resources, Geology and Soils, Hydrology and Water Quality, and Tribal Cultural Resources.
