Ikon Pass versus Squaw 2017 Pass Comparison

Several people have asked what the price differences are between last year’s Squaw Tahoe Super Season Pass and the new Ikon Pass.  Ikon has only two pass prices which will be $899 and $599, and there are no senior discounts nor local SV/AM passes.  The price for a college student will be $719.  Other prices are listed below in the comparison chart.

Luckily the web never forgets – so we were able to track down last year’s Squaw Super Tahoe pricing chart.

As noted there is an early purchase price ($199) for kids if parents buy their passes before April 10th.   After the 9th, price goes up to $349.

As portrayed, there are clearly some benefits of the new Ikon pass which provides access to some 26 ski areas.  But, for the local skier or rider who won’t travel nor visit the other areas, the price to ski or board SV/AM has increased significantly and those folks will be paying alot for something they’ll never use!

Addendum

On reader pointed out that there were actually additional pre-season discounts if passes were bought before April 18th (the figures above were the regular season prices).  As you can see below this means the variances between last year and the Ikon pass are even greater (between $20-40 cheaper pre season).
