Attention Rental Property Owners in the Valley
Dear Friends of Olympic Valley,
As many of you are aware, a group of local citizens in Squaw Valley is trying to set up a local transit district that would fund a permanent version of the shuttle program that was run last year during the Christmas holidays and the World Cup.
The intent is to run the shuttle in both Alpine Meadows and Squaw Valley to accommodate skiers heading to the mountains. The goal of the shuttle is to reduce traffic and congestion. It would be funded partially by an increase of 1% in TOT in the transit district (basically Alpine Meadows and Squaw Valley including all Squaw Valley Ski Holding properties). There would be no increase in local taxes paid by property owners.
If you are a rental property owners in Squaw Valley or Alpine Meadows and remit Transient Occupancy Tax to Placer County you have an opportunity to voice your support for this project.
The attached “Petition to the County of Placer to Form the Squaw Valley | Alpine Meadows Micro Mass Transit District” is the essential legal document to establish and operate intra-valley shuttle service in Squaw | Alpine.
If you own a rental property in either Valley, and are in support of the proposed Tourism Business Improvement District (TBID) please download, complete, print and sign the attached three-page petition.
The entire three-page package should be mailed to:
